New CVAP objects are : IO Del (UGWZ?) PU Per (UG) UW Tri (N:) KW And (UG) PV Per (UG) TU Tri (UG) QY Per (UG) V421 Tau (UG) On the other hand, AR UMa is removed from the Alert Programme. This object is an AM Her variable, with a magnitude range of 13 - 16.5V. Alternative designation : 1ES1113+432. The complete CVAP listing now consists of : EV Aqr, V1289 Aql, AQ CMi, V337 Cyg, IO Del, IR Lyr, V650 Ori, AS Psc, V701 Tau, SS LMi, FS Aur, KW And, CI Gem, QY Per, PU Per, PV Per, V421 Tau, UW Tri, TU Tri and V358 Lyr . Finder charts and sequences for the new objects are under preparation, and will be available shortly from the editors. DM Lyr [UG, 13.6p - 18p] ======================== Gary Poyner, Birmingham, UK informs us that he has detected an outburst of this UG-type dwarf nova, which is on the Recurrent Objects Programme of The Astronomer Group, UK. Bill Worraker, Didcot, UK has confirmed the event. An independent detection observation was also made by Tonny Vanmunster, Landen, Belgium. Available observations : 1994 Oct 31.877 UT, [14,8 (B. Worraker, 0.26-m refl.); Nov 01.775 UT, 14.6 (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl.); Nov 01.794 UT, 14.5 (B. Worraker, 0.26-m refl.); Nov 01.889 UT, 14.6 (T. Vanmunster, 0.35-m refl., seq: AAVSO); The previous outburst of DM Lyr was observed on 1994, September 05 by E. Broens, Mol, Belgium. It reached mag. 14.3 one day later, but returned to minimum brightness in less than one week [CVC No.15 & 16] QY Per [UG, 14.2p - <20p] ========================= Following the outburst announcement of the dwarf nova QY Per in CVC No.20, Nick James, UK emails : "I have performed astrometry on QY Per during its current outburst. The reduction used 10 GSC stars with rms residuals 0.14", 0.12". The position was derived from a 60s CCD frame taken on 1994 October 26 at 23h12m using a 0.3-m Newtonian. It is some way to the NW of the position quoted in Downes and Shara. The position I get is : RA = 3h15m36.82s, Dec = +42d28'13.8" (2000.0). Downes and Shara give end figures : 37.93s, 0".9. " Guy Hurst, Basingstoke, UK comments in The Astronomer Electronic Circular No.897 : "The star in outburst may coincide with a very faint image on the Downes and Shara Atlas (PASP 105, No 694, [1993]) for which a photograph of the field appears on page 221. The possible candidate proposed by Hurst and James is located 19mm from the frame top and 30 mm from the frame right edge and is presumably of magnitude 20-21. A slightly brighter star, located 19.5mm from top and 28.5mm from right is unlikely to be the candidate."
